Hello. I'm Chris.
If you are landing here for the first time, start with this. It is the short version of who I am and what all of this is.
Three names, one person
People get confused by the names attached to my work, so here is the map.
Christopher is the researcher. It is the name on Celaya Solutions Research, on the papers, on the instruments.
C-Cell is the producer. The name on the music: the sound engineering, the records, the collaborations with GhostMusix. The craft is bending sound in time. Where a note lands, how long it holds, what it does to your attention four bars later. The title undersells the rest of it. C-Cell plays and writes, builds games, draws and animates, cuts video. Breadth is the method here too, same as the lab. But the through-line is the sound. C-Cell is the producer.
The operator is the origin. Twelve years on the industrial floor, keeping critical infrastructure running where being wrong had physical consequences. That is where I learned how real systems behave.
Chris is just me. The daily one. The combination of the three. Don’t worry about which is which. It’s all one person asking one question from different rooms.
The lab
Celaya Solutions Research is an independent research lab. No investors, no stockholders, optimized for surprise over market fit. The work is local-first and provenance-aware: systems where every answer traces back to its evidence and a person stays accountable for it. I learned why that matters on industrial floors, and I am building the version of it that holds for legal, archival, and industrial work. I do it in public so the method stays legible.
A few of the instruments
- TRINIDAD is a searchable archive of Texas history. The point is proof that a record can be trusted, not just retrieved.
- RECALL is document intelligence that shows its receipts. RAG retrieves. RECALL proves.
- CORRIDOR is civic accountability for El Paso, tracking what gets built here and who answers for it.
- CORTEX is manufacturing intelligence, born on the same floor where I worked.
- MORTEM is the one you can see at the top of this site. My heartbeat, on the record. The human at the center, alive and accounted for.
There are many more. The breadth is the method, not a backlog. I will get into that in its own post.
What this journal is
Field notes from inside the work. What I am building, what broke, what surprised me, video when video says it better, and once in a while something meant to be useful to a person who needs to hear it. Welcome. Glad you are here.
